The Diamond Star Youth Initiative cares

Our Mission Statement:

As a registered 501c-3 non-profit incorporation, Diamond Star Ranch Youth Initiative is dedicated to aiding and assisting at-risk teen daughters and their families within our community, without prejudice to race or religion by maintaining a peaceful atmosphere that fosters each individual teen’s growth in rehabilitation, personal responsibility, family reunification and the discovery of their unique God given purpose & talents.

 The Diamond Star Story~

Diamond Star is a story of inspiration. The Diamond Star dream came to life as a personal story of a father who went searching for help for his child. After conducting a thorough investigation of services available in our community he found little - next to nothing - of high quality service that was affordable or on a sliding scale in our community, for our community.

This father also realized that overall we have a 911-mentality. That father was me.

Originally the DSR vision was for boys because it was my son that was affected. We were going to call it The Youth Center. However, after an investigation on what was available to the entire community, discovering there was literally nothing for girls in the entire state of Texas, and having a meeting with a boys ranch (Miracle farm in Brenham, TX), our team voted to serve girls, send our referral boys to Miracle Farm and change the name to Diamond Star Ranch. It was the DSR board decision to switch to girls. I thank God we did!

There is virtually nothing for teen daughters of reputable quality in the state of Texas for families who are financially challenged, have no health insurance, and are experiencing distress within their families. It’s kind of sad really.

As CEO and founder of Diamond Star Ranch Youth Initiative, I realized that if I was experiencing this pain and tragedy of watching a child self-destruct, I knew hundreds (possibly thousands) of families were too. I had heard about these ranches that were far away and too expensive. They had very high success rates in helping troubled at-risk teens. I knew I had to do something - and a dream came to life.

The vision of Diamond Star is this: a non-profit, beautiful ranch facility where a teen daughter can be set free of her distresses. With an inviting, genuine, unconditional love and understanding, professional staff, horses, a serene outdoor country setting, a baseball diamond, evenings with camp fires, and clear skies under the bright night stars. This is the mission of Diamond Star Residential Youth Academy. Using Christian values and working to restore broken families is our cornerstone and foundation

With renewed focus and determination, Montgomery County now says “we take care of our own…the best we can.”

In the interim of building our dream, we are doing “Great Day on the Ranch”
which is picking up steam and enjoying great success. (see Our Program page for details)

Early intervention is the key to our success. This is something we can all rally around and be proud of. Diamond Star Ranch Youth Initiative will be a crown jewel of excellence and a trusted resource for many years to come. We are now in phase II of our development, we are looking for land and resources.

Sincerely,

Jim Stiffler

CEO and Founder, Diamond Star Ranch Youth Initiative.

Imagine the possibilities…when we just join hands.
